Institute of Tourism, is pleased to announce a new Certificate Program in SPA
Management. This five course program introduces students to the complex world of SPA
management.
This Certificate Program takes an in-depth look at subjects ranging from the history and
cultural development of spas to spa terminology and financial realities. It also examines
today’s spa industry, and introduces students to spa careers. In addition it
introduces the student to retail management, retail planning, inventory management,
maximizing profits, sales and service, visual merchandising, and marketing within the spa
environment. Topics also include how to recruit, select, and train; increase productivity;
control labour costs; communicate effectively; manage conflict and change; and use time
management techniques. This 5 course program will help aspiring spa professionals increase
their retail knowledge and understanding of guest and vendor partner relationships.
